Become a Teen Candidate

The process of selecting Miss America’s Teen begins at the local level. In the greater Tacoma area the Miss Pierce County Scholarship Program is the local competition. Once selected, Miss Pierce County ‘s Teen will compete in June at the Miss Washington’s Teen Competition. The young lady chosen to be Miss Washington’s Teen will have the honor of competing in August at the Miss America’s Teen competition.

We would like to welcome and invite all young ladies who are between the ages of 14-17, and who are interested in earning scholarship money toward their education, making a difference in today’s society, and wanting to become the next Miss Washington’s Teen to learn more about our program. Eligibility:

To become a participant for the next competition cycle for Miss Pierce County’s Teen you must meet all criteria as shown below:

  • For Miss Pierce County’s Teen you must be between the ages of 14-17, must be 14 by state competition and no older than 17 at state competition
  • Be a United State citizen
  • Be a female
  • Single
  • No legal dependents
  • Meet residence requirements for competing in our local program

Further rules may apply per MAO national contract.

Please note that after completing her year of service, a Miss Pierce County’s Teen titleholder will not be permitted to compete again in the Miss Pierce County’s Teen Program. This provides an equal opportunity for all new candidates, while allowing the former titleholder the right to compete independently or to apply to any other Teen program in the state.

All applicants, before submitting their local application, must register with the Miss America Program and submit their registration fee.

Applications for our Class of 2025 are now closed.  Any application submitted will be held for our Class of 2026.
